Lindsays Trophy
Starting in season 2014-5 the Lindsays Trophy was awarded to the Club with the highest aggregate number of finishers across all age groups at the National Cross Country Championships. In season 2015-6 this was extented to the 3 National Cross Country Championships. These are the National XC Relay Championships, the National Short Course Cross country championships and the National Cross Country Championships. All age groups are counted in the total.
In season 2023-4 the competition was split into 3 tiers of Tier 1 (20 clubs), Tier 2 (20 clubs) and the rest. The tiers were initially set up using the order of the clubs in the 2022-3 results. Having set up the tiers a promotion and relegation was introduced with 4 clubs being promoted annually from tiers 2 and 3 to tiers 1 and 2 respectively and 4 clubs being relegated annually from tiers 1 and 2 to tiers 2 and 3 respectively.
